Jermuk (Djermuk, Safolar) – this resort town is in Vayotz Ashkharh (Armenian word for “world”). It is 163 km far from Yerevan. The name “Jermuk” originates from the mineral sources, which spring here, and means “hot water”. Seven sources were explored here in 1982 and all of them are of curative value. They mainly treat intestine-stomach ailments as well as nervous system diseases. The first health center with the Gallery was built here in 1935. They all are built in the best traditions of Armenian dwelling houses of the XIX century. The town is in the harmony with nature. There is a waterfall, and, although it is not the Niagara, it has the beauty of its own and is worth visiting. Coming to this remote and tiny corner of Armenia, you will be able to combine entertainment with alleviation of health problems if you have any.
